A tour around the oldest salt mine in Poland is an extraordinary journey through the most beautiful and interesting excavation sites located on level IV August (176 m underground) and level VI Sienkiewicz (223 m underground). These include unique chambers with characteristic shapes and geological layout, crude chapels with magnificent statues and paintings as well as tools and mining equipment used ages ago.

Tourists are offered access to the world's only Underground Multimedia Exhibition, which turns the underground tour in Bochnia into a time travel ranging from the Middle Ages to present day. Before this happens, however, visitors are offered a train ride 200m below ground.

During the tour, the guide's tale is assisted by Polish kings, Genoese merchants and the spirit of Cysters – a monk, whose order is closely related to the beginning of operation of the salt mine in Bochnia. With the use of modern multimedia technology, the development of mining techniques throughout the ages is presented, as well as mining professions and underground elements, with which the working miners had to cope. Extraordinary realism of the presentation has been achieved due to the use of holoscreens integrated into the natural scenery, and to surround audio system. All of it makes the impression as if the normal life of the mine was going on right next to the visitors.

The visit ends with a stay in the Ważyn chamber, located on level VI Sienkiewicz 250 m below ground. During a 30-minute stay, you can enjoy a sports field, 140 m slide and the services of the underground Ważynek restaurant. There is also a souvenir store and a mini playground for children.

The time of the stay in the mine (sightseeing + stay in the Ważyn chamber) is 2,5 hours. Optionally, the program can be expanded with an extraordinary boat trip.
